There was a bye for netball last weekend as it was the long weekend. There was still netball for 1 very special Aranmore girl though. Sophie Rowse (6R) was selected for the Perth Development Team, and has been training hard with them all year. This team represents Perth Netball Association in the Association Championship Carnival which was played over the long weekend. This involved the best from Perth Netball Assoc playing teams from all other Associations around the state – both metro and country.

Well it was a pretty wet and windy weekend. The year 3 girls played on Friday afternoon so got their game in before the storms … unfortunately for the older girls netball on Saturday was cancelled. It was simply too dangerous in the conditions to play netball. Hopefully all of you got the notifications before heading to Matthews on Saturday.

Here are our netball coaches comments from the games last week. These will be a weekly update throughout the season. The AquaGirls made it two wins in a row as they ran out winners by 10 goals to 5 against St Hilda’s on the weekend. The match was probably closer than the score would indicate but it was the superb tough defensive work from Lola Sabatier and Lily Petch that made it really hard for the opposition to score.
