The School Education Act 1999 requires children of compulsory school age to attend school (applies to all students from Pre-Primary). When a child is unable to attend, legislation requires that parents/caregivers forward written notification providing a reasonable cause for the absence of their child. A telephone message beforehand is encouraged if the absence is anticipated.

Extended Leave of Absence

Please advise the office if your child suffers from a condition that requires our attention and support. This includes conditions such as asthma, allergies or other medical diagnosis. It is important that you provide the school with a current Action Plan issued and signed by your family doctor if your child has a known medical condition.

Mobile Phones

From the commencement of the 2020 school year, the Western Australian State Government placed a ban on all student phones in the classroom. There are an increasing number of parents and carers who for safety, security or emergency purposes wish to provide their children with mobile phones. This procedure details the conditions under which mobile phones are permitted at Aranmore Catholic Primary School.

Traffic Management

Parking around the Aranmore Catholic Primary School site relies on the courteous and fair behaviour of every driver if the children are to remain safe.

Parking is not permitted under any circumstances in the ‘Kiss ‘n Ride’ zone (east/school side of Brentham Street) at the following times:

  • 8.00 – 9.00am
  • 2.30 – 3.30pm

The ‘Kiss ‘n Ride’ drop-off and pick-up zone can be a very busy place. The system relies on all families doing the right thing to ensure it runs safely and smoothly. To keep it flowing efficiently, please adhere to the procedures in place.

Our uniform is a sign of our community. Upon enrolling at Aranmore Catholic Primary School, parents and guardians are agreeing to support their child in wearing the school uniform with pride.

Children are expected to be attired in the correct and complete school uniform at all times:

  • Summer uniform is worn in Term 1 and Term 4
  • Winter uniform is worn in Term 2 and Term 3
  • In a typical week, students wear the academic uniform for three days and the sport uniform for two.
